This course introduces computer concepts to students at a basic level. Topics include computer terminology, history, uses and types of computers, word processing and introduction to the internet.

The aim of this course is to introduce basic computer concepts and use to students. It covers computer hardware and software fundamentals (including the use of Windows Operating System), key productivity applications such as word processing, spreadsheets and presentations, with Microsoft Office recent package. Internet, web searching strategies, online communities and e-mailing systems are some of the topics that will be dealt with in this course. The students will develop basic computer skills to help them with college and workforce readiness.

This course will guide learners through the key ICT skills and

concepts that they will need to effectively use in their teaching

practice. The course will also provide skills to enable teaching and

learning professionals to start engaging in the pedagogical effective

use of ICT to support and enhance teaching, learning and assessment

in the classroom.
